I have suffered from depression off and on for years. I visit a psychologist, and talking to her helps me a lot when I am feeling depressed. One day I was talking to her about my love of animals, and she told me that with my love of pets, I should have one if I can handle it. The thought of getting a cat made me feel happy for the first time in months. I visited a local shelter and chose one that had been there a while. He is a sweetheart who wakes me up in the morning by licking my face and just loves to cuddle on my lap. I feel better than I have in years! I created this blog to help other people with depression who are considering adopting pets. They do help!
